Overview

To do detailed or advanced reporting on your billing data, you can Export Charges to Excel by going to Billing >> Financial Reports  and then under the Less Common Reports header you should see an option to Export Charges to Excel. Set the start and end date for the period that you want to export, (and you can also filter by charge/payment type) and click the button to save the exported document to your computer.

Below is some help with basic functionality to work with this report in Excel.


Delete any unwanted columns:

  • Hover your mouse over the letter at the top of the column you would like to delete. The mouse cursor should turn into a down arrow ↓.
  • Click to select the entire column, or click and drag your mouse sideways to select multiple adjacent columns.
  • To delete, hit the Delete (NOT Backspace) key on your keyboard OR click the Delete button at the right of the toolbar in the Home tab (see screenshot).



Format as table:

  • Click on the upper left hand data cell in your table (A1)
  • Scroll to the right and down until you can see the lower right-most data cell in your table – do not click yet
  • Hold down the Shift key, and click on the lower right-most cell to select your entire table
  • Click Format as Table in the middle of the toolbar in the Home tab (see screenshot) and select your preferred formatting style
  • In the Format as Table mini-window, make sure the checkbox “My table has headers” is checked, then select OK


Sort by any column

Click on the mini down arrow at the right of any column you want to sort by and select Sort A to Z or Sort Z to A


Delete unneeded rows

  • Hover your mouse over the number to the left of a row you want to delete, then click to select (or click and drag to select a range of rows)
  • To delete, hit the Delete (NOT Backspace) key on your keyboard OR click the Delete button at the right of the toolbar in the Home tab (see screenshot).

Sum a particular column

  • Click to select the cell just below the column you want to sum
  • Click Autosum at the right of the toolbar in the Home tab (see screenshot)
