Cerbo will send out the following default messages:
- Email Notice:
Default subject: "You have a new upcoming appointment!"
- (Email) Reminder:
Default subject: Your upcoming appointment
- SMS (text message reminder) - Default Text:
The Email Notice will be sent as soon as the event is added to the calendar, while the Reminder and SMS will go out at the scheduled time.
Save a Custom Message, Subject, and/or Timing
To edit these emails, go to Admin -> Manage -> Schedule Types, and select "Manage Default Notifications":
You can edit either your General notifications, or select a Schedule Type from the drop-down. Your General notifications will be be the underlying default - applying to any appointments that you have not defined Schedule Type specific notifications for.
You can manage both your General notifications, and your Schedule Type specific notifications from this window:
Note that the subject and message will appear to the patient exactly as you see them, so you don't want to include a patient's name, provider name (in a multi-provider practice), or appointment type in your saved default text, use the provided variables instead.
***NOTE that the SMS reminder message does not automatically contain the practice name! You will want to save a default SMS reminder message, being sure to keep it within the 160 characters of a single text message. And, unlike in the email message areas, there is one text variable that you can use in the SMS message: [[datetime]] will insert the appointment date and time. For example, your saved default SMS reminder message could be (substituting your practice name): "Reminder: appt at Total Wellness [[datetime]]. Questions? Call 555-555-5555. Look forward to seeing you!"
As soon as you associate a patient with an appointment on the EMR calendar, you will see the option to send an Email Notice, (Email) Reminder, and an SMS (text message). This is where you can customize any of the messages for a particular patient
